Concrete Driveways
Built to Last
A driveway is one of the first things people see when they arrive at your home, and one of the hardest-working surfaces on the property. It carries the weight of vehicles every day, sits exposed to the weather year-round, and has to look good while doing it. Getting it right is about far more than pouring concrete and walking away.
We have laid concrete driveways across Cranbourne and the City of Casey for over 5 years. In that time we have learned exactly how the local clay soil behaves, where driveways tend to fail, and what it takes to pour a surface that still looks sharp and sits flat decades later. Whether you want the natural texture of exposed aggregate, the refined look of a honed finish, the warmth of coloured concrete, or a clean plain finish, we build every driveway on the same solid foundation.
Every job starts with a free on-site quote. We look at the site, talk through your options, and give you a written itemised price with no obligation and no pressure.

Concrete driveway OPtions
We pour four driveway finishes, each with its own look, feel, and price point. Here is a quick guide to help you narrow down what suits your home. We go through all of this in detail on the free quote visit.
The most popular driveway finish in Melbourne's south-east. Natural stone texture, excellent slip resistance, and outstanding durability.
$135 to $145 per m²
A smoother, more refined version of exposed aggregate. Ground back to a flat finish that suits contemporary and architectural homes.
$185 to $195 per m²
Coloured concrete
Oxide pigments mixed through the concrete for warm earthy tones. More kerb appeal than plain grey at a lower cost than aggregate.
$100 to $110 per m²
plain concrete
A clean, practical grey finish. The most cost-effective option, ideal where function matters more than decorative appearance.
$90 to $100 per m²
HOW we build it
Our Driveway PROCESS
A concrete driveway is only as good as the preparation underneath it. This is the six-stage process we follow on every driveway we pour, and the reason our work holds up in Cranbourne's clay soil where other driveways crack and sink.
01
on-site free quote
We come to you, look at the site, check the access, fall, and drainage, and talk through which finish suits your home and budget. You get a written itemised quote with no obligation.
02
site prep
We excavate to the right depth, clear the existing surface, and prepare the ground ready for the pour. We set the formwork to the correct level and fall, place the steel reinforcement, and plan the control joints. This is the stage that makes or breaks a driveway.
03
concrete pour & finish
Quality concrete is placed, levelled, and worked to your chosen finish, whether that is exposed aggregate, honed, coloured, or plain. This is where the driveway takes on its final look.
04
cure & seal
We cure the slab properly and seal it where the finish calls for it, which protects the surface and brings out the colour and texture. Then we clean up and leave the site tidy.
why cranbourne homeowners choose us
built on experience, not shortcuts
we know the local gorund
Cranbourne and much of the City of Casey sit on expansive clay soil that swells and shrinks with moisture. After 5+ years working this ground we know exactly how to prepare a base that handles it. This local knowledge is the difference between a driveway that lasts and one that cracks in its first wet season.
the base is never rushed
Most driveway failures come from poor base preparation, not the concrete itself. We compact the sub-base in layers and never pour over ground that is not ready. It is the part of the job nobody sees, and the part that matters most for how long your driveway lasts.
one team, start to finish
We do not subcontract your driveway to the cheapest available crew. The person who quotes your job is part of the team that pours it. You deal with the same people throughout, and you get a workmanship guarantee that we actually stand behind.
honest, itemised quoting
Our quotes are written, itemised, and free. You see exactly what you are paying for before we start, with no vague estimates and nothing added later. If your budget suits a plain or coloured finish better than aggregate, we will tell you that honestly.
fully licensed and insured
We are fully licensed and carry full insurance on every job. You are protected from the moment we arrive on site to the moment the driveway is finished, and the work is done to Australian standards throughout.
we turn up when we say
We commit to a start date, give you a clear timeline, and turn up when we say we will. We know how disruptive it is to have your driveway out of action, so we work efficiently and leave the site clean at the end of every day.

recent project
double Driveway, clyde north
This new build in Clyde North needed a double driveway laid over freshly filled clay, which is one of the trickier scenarios to get right. The fill had to be properly compacted and the base built up correctly before any concrete went down, otherwise the slab would have settled unevenly within a year.
The owners chose an exposed aggregate finish with an off-white base to match the rendered facade of the home. We excavated, laid and compacted the crushed rock sub-base in layers, set the formwork with the correct fall toward the street for drainage, placed the steel, and poured. The aggregate was washed back the following morning and sealed once cured.

Pricing Guide
How Much Does CONCRETE driveway COST?
A concrete driveway in Cranbourne costs anywhere from $90 to $195 per square metre depending on the finish you choose. Plain concrete sits at the lower end, coloured concrete and exposed aggregate in the middle, and honed aggregate at the top.
Most homeowners are weighing up a single or double driveway, so the table to the right gives realistic total price ranges by size and finish. These are honest guides, not the vague estimates you get elsewhere.
FACTORS THAT AFFECT PRICE:
Finish Type
The single biggest factor. Plain concrete is the most affordable, honed aggregate the most premium.
Site access and preperation
Removing an old driveway, dealing with fill, or poor access all add to the cost.
Total SIZE
Larger driveways attract a lower per-metre rate as fixed costs spread across more area.
DRAINAGE & REINFORCEMENT
Extra drainage, thicker slabs, or heavier reinforcement for vehicle loads add to the price.

Why Choose It
Why HONED CONCRETE Is Worth It
BUILT FOR THE LONG HAUL
A properly laid concrete driveway lasts 25 to 30 years with very little upkeep. It handles daily vehicle loads, the weather, and constant use without breaking down the way cheaper surfaces do. It is one of the best-value improvements you can make to a home.
ADDS REAL KERB APPEAL
A fresh driveway is one of the first things people notice about a property. A clean, well-finished concrete surface lifts the entire look of the front of your home, and finishes like exposed aggregate or honed add a genuine premium feel.
A FINISH FOR EVERY BUDGET
Concrete is the most versatile driveway material going. Whether you want the natural texture of exposed aggregate, the refined look of honed, the warmth of coloured, or a clean plain grey, there is a finish to suit your home and your budget.
HANDLES OUR CLAY SOIL
Concrete poured over a properly prepared and reinforced foundation copes with Cranbourne's reactive clay far better than segmented surfaces. With the right steel and well-placed control joints, it moves as one solid slab rather than shifting in pieces.
STRONG RETURN ON INVESTMENT
A quality concrete driveway typically adds more to a home's value and appeal than it costs to lay. On a sale or a rental, a tidy, durable driveway is exactly the kind of practical feature buyers and tenants notice straight away.
AFTERCARE
Caring for Your NEW
DRIVEWAY
A concrete driveway needs very little upkeep, but the first month matters and a little care goes a long way. We talk you through all of this when the job is done.
01
The First 28 Days
Keep off the surface for 24 hours, wait seven days before driving on it, and avoid parking heavy vehicles for 28 days. Concrete keeps gaining strength for the first month, so the longer you wait, the stronger it sets.
02
Regular Cleaning
Sweep regularly and hose or pressure wash a couple of times a year. Clean up oil and fuel spills promptly. A clean driveway not only looks better, it lasts longer.
03
Resealing
Aggregate and coloured finishes benefit from resealing every two to three years. This protects the surface, maintains the colour, and guards against staining. We can handle resealing for you when it is due.
04
WATCH THE JOINTS
Keep control joints clear and resealed. In Cranbourne's clay soil, well-maintained joints are your best protection against water getting underneath and causing movement. Call us early if you notice anything widening.

driveway FAQs
We have answered the questions we hear most from homeowners across Cranbourne and the south-east. If you do not see yours here, just give us a ring — we are always happy to talk through a job before you commit to anything.
How much does a concrete driveway cost in Cranbourne?
A concrete driveway in Cranbourne costs between $90 and $195 per square metre depending on the finish. Plain concrete is the most affordable at $90 to $100 per m², coloured concrete runs $100 to $110, exposed aggregate $135 to $145, and honed aggregate $185 to $195. A typical single driveway ranges from around $2,500 to $7,800 and a double from $4,500 to $15,600 depending on the finish chosen. We provide a free itemised on-site quote before any work begins.
How long does it take to lay a concrete driveway?
Most residential driveways are completed in one to three days. A single driveway is often done in a day or two. Double and triple driveways, or jobs that need an old driveway removed or significant base work, take two to three days. The concrete then needs time to cure before you drive on it. We give you a clear timeline before we start.
How long before I can drive on my new driveway?
You can walk on it after 24 hours. Wait at least seven days before driving a normal car on it, and a minimum of 28 days before parking anything heavy like a caravan, boat trailer, or truck. Concrete keeps gaining strength for the first 28 days, so the longer you can wait, the better it holds up long term.
Which driveway finish is best?
There is no single best finish, it depends on your budget and the look you want. Exposed aggregate is the most popular for its mix of durability, slip resistance, and natural appearance. Honed aggregate suits contemporary homes where a refined look matters. Coloured concrete gives good kerb appeal at a lower cost. Plain concrete is the most economical and works well for practical or rear driveways. We help you choose the right one on the quote visit.
Why do concrete driveways crack in Cranbourne?
Much of Cranbourne and the City of Casey sits on reactive clay soil that expands when wet and shrinks when dry. This movement is the most common cause of driveway cracking in the area. The way to prevent it is correct base preparation, proper compaction, adequate steel reinforcement, and well-placed control joints that give the concrete somewhere to relieve stress. Getting these right from the start is exactly what we focus on.
Do I need to remove my old driveway first?
In most cases yes. Pouring new concrete over an old driveway rarely gives a good long-term result because the old surface can move independently and cause the new one to crack. We remove and dispose of the existing driveway as part of the job and prepare a fresh base. We include this in your itemised quote so you can see exactly what it costs.
Do you handle council crossover reinstatement?
Yes. Where a driveway connects to the road, the crossover often needs to be reinstated to City of Casey standards. We can handle the crossover as part of your driveway job and make sure it meets council requirements. We will flag whether your job needs this during the quote.
